wife of David McJonathan and daughter of Betty Jane (Boward) and Paul Marion Fox. She died at 2:32 A.M. at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was receiving respite care and rehabilitation at Golden Living in Hagerstown following her second case of pneumonia this year. Her early years were with her paternal grandparents Myrtle Marie (Brown) and Wilbur Marcellus Fox on their farm on Harbaugh Valley Road in Sabillasville, Maryland. She was graduated with an academic diploma from Thurmont High School with the class of 1961. She then completed her training as a beautician at the Waynesboro Beauty School on the second floor of the Wolf-McCallum Building. Her husband David often said that to understand Cindy one needed to know that her paternal grandparents had nine boys and that she was the first grandchild! She grew up attending all of the community picnics and family reunions with her grandparents and for her entire life nothing was more important than family and extended family. She worked for the family business, Moxie Machine & Tool, in Frederick for over 25 years until 1991, and was retired on disabililty from Victor Cullen Academy, Sabillasville, Maryland, where she was the first Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director from their opening until 1998. She and her husband David McJonathan were married on 23 November 1986 at Harriet Chapel, Catoctin Episcopal Parish, Catoctin Furnace, Maryland. In addition to her husband she is survived by six children: Susan (Bewley) Mertz and husband Stanley; Raymond McJonathan and wife Laura; John Bewley and fiancee Mary; Benjamin McJonathan Sherrard and wife Tammy; Stephen McJonathan and wife Lisa-Ann; Samuel McJonathan and fiancee Becky; six grandchildren: Samantha Twigg; Tim Twigg, Jr.; Christopher McJonathan; John Phillip Bewley; Spencer Sherrard; Chase Sherrard; three great grandchildren; her brother Rodney Fox, Sr.; sister Kay Shook and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
