Brother in Mahaffey and Sister of Iowa in Reunion in Altoona

Memorial day was a day of reunion for H. M. COLEMAN, age 74, of Mafhaffey, Clearfield county, and his sister, Mrs. Annia A. ACHUFF, aged 72, of Vinton, Iowa, who separated when boy and girl fifty-eight years ago, met in this city yesterday for the first time during that period.

The reunion was held in the home of J.E. HOUSEL of 1932 Eleventh avenue, a half-brother. Mrs. ACHUFF arrived in Altoona from the west late Sunday night and she expects to spend some time in this vicinity,.

As a girl, aged 14, following the death of her father, she was taken to the west, fifty eight years ago and has never been back east during that time. Her brother, Mr. COLEMAN, remained in Pennsylvania, and has been a resident of Mahaffey for many years. The family had resided at Buena Vista, Bedford county.

The mother had remarried and Mr. HOUSEL was born to the second union. Mr. HOUSEL two years ago while in the west went to see his half-sister, Mrs. ACHUFF, and at that time secured her promise to come east.

The western woman's husband is dead. He had been a teacher in a small college at Vinton for a number of years. Another half-brother, by a third marriage, I.E. DULL, who resides at Mahaffey, has never seen Mrs. ACHUFF. He was unable to come to Altoona for the reunion.
