Carl Edwin Larson was born in Omaha, NE. His parents' first child who died at a few months of age was also named Carl Edwin.

His parents, Swan Peter and Anna Sophia became employees at Luther Academy in Wahoo, Nebraska where all of their children were educated. Swan supervised the care of the academy buildings, the farm and the campus while Anna was responsible for feeding of some five hundred students.

One of Carl's writings states, "...all of us, five sisters and three brothers, at one time had the necessary credentials to teach - public school, piano, voice, or nurses training courses."

Carl Edwin (Ed) Larson and Bernice ("Bunny") Winslow married on June 28, 1934 in Minnesota. Mr. Larson, after graduating from Iowa State College in 1932, worked for Swift and Co. for about 21 years.They lived in Grinnell, Iowa, for 12 years.

Carl achieved his degree at Iowa State College in forestry. He worked in poultry science for most of his career, retiring as an inspector for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture in Sanford, Florida.

The date on the gravestone is not correct. He was born in 1906.
