Carl Edwin Larson, Jr., passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, at his home in Austin, Texas. He was born March 28, 1935, in Wahpetan, North Dakota, just south of Fargo, the first child of Carl Edwin Larson, Sr., and Bernice E. (Winslow) Larson. Carl was aged 81 years old.

He grew up in Grinnell, Iowa, and in Yoakum, Texas. Carl considered Yoakum his home because he graduated from Yoakum High School, but more importantly, he met Mary Lou Veazey in Yoakum. She was the love of his life. Both graduated from the University of Texas, Carl obtaining a degree in Pharmacy, Mary Lou in English. After marriage they lived in Oak Cliff, TX; Naperville, IL; Lawrenceville, NJ; Pittsburgh, PA, and after Carl’s retirement, in Austin, TX. Carl was a true Texan and Longhorn at heart.

In his career, Carl was a Senior Buyer for Sears, a Marketing Vice President for GNC, and a pharmacist for Eckerds Pharmacy.

His beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Lou, passed away 19 months before Carl. Both were members of Manchaca Methodist Church.

Surviving Carl are his two children Carla Lee (Larson) Cornwell and husband John Kip Cornwell of Westfield, New Jersey, and Clay Larson and wife Tatiana Larson of Ann Arbor, Michigan; two grandchildren, Zack and Mae Cornwell of Westfield, New Jersey, and two brothers, Donald B. Larson of Lewisville, Texas, and Samuel P. Larson of Titusville, Florida.
