Mr. Eddie Bloyd, son of the late Mr. Milton Bloyd and Mrs. Mandie Stearman Bloyd, was born October 14, 1913, in Green County and departed this life Friday, July 16, 1999, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was 85 years, nine months and two days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at the time of his death. Mr. Bloyd was a retired truck driver and farmer.
He united in marriage to Miss Gladys Marcum, September 4, 1935, who survives. To this union was born one son: Milton Creed Bloyd, Summersville.
Mr. Bloyd is also survived by three grandchildren: Sherry Bloyd, Gayle Edmonds and Billy Bloyd, all of Summersville; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral for Mr. Eddie Bloyd was conducted Monday, July 19, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Rev. Leslie Jewell officiated. Pallbearers were Billy Bloyd, Ricky Edmonds, Bonnie Shofner, David Dobson, Kenny Brown, Stanley Brown and Allen McCubbins."
