KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Russell Lee Adams, age 52, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 in Kansas City, MO after a short illness.

He was born March 26, 1960 in St Joseph, MO to Clyde L. and Marcella (Ritzinger) Adams.

He lived most of his life in Kansas City, Mo, with the exception of a few years in Galena, KS and St. Joseph, MO.

Russell was a heavy laborer for Superior-Bowen Asphalt Company in Kansas City, MO. He was a member of the Heavy Laborers Union 663.

He loved dogs, lottery tickets and working on cars.

Russell was married to Lesa Lambertson on June 9, 2006 in Raytown, MO. She survives.

Also surviving is his mother, Marcella Adams of Neosho, MO; two sons Russell Lambertsen and his wife Elisa Tapia , Brett Lambertsen and one daughter Abby Lambertsen all of KC, MO., 3 grand-daughters Ashley Treese, Tatyana Lambertsen and Kailyana Lambertsen and 2 grandsons Russell Lambertsen Tapia and Matthew Deardorff, 2 brothers Ricky Adams (wife Jaeneen) of Richmond, MO and Ronald Adams of KC, MO, 1 sister Joan Whittington of Galena, KS, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces whom he adored.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 20 at Derfelt Chapel in Galena. Pastor Bob Winnett will officiate.

Burial will be in Pence Cemetery, Baxter Springs KS.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena.
