Graveside services for Mrs. Alice Paul Ayers, 79, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, in Milton cemetery. A long-time resident of Rockton, Ill., she died Jan. 29 in the Maplewood Nursing Home near Rockton where she had been a patient for the past nine months. Rev. Darrell English of the Rockton Methodist Church officiated.

The former Alice Paul was born Feb. 16, 1895 in Milton, the daughter of Wallace and Ada Thorpe Paul. She graduated from the old Milton Jct. High School and then attended business college. She was married to Ernest Ayers in 1919 and later divorced.

She served as executive secretary at Kelnzade Products for many years until her retirement in 1960.

Survivors are a son, Danford of Rockton; a daughter, Annalee of Chicago; two granddaughters; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Paul, Janesville.

She was predeceased by a daughter, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
