4th son of Beach Lewis, Sr. and Ruth (Bennet) Lewis. Married Nabby Hotchkiss in Derby, Connecticut in 1791. Couple moved to vicinity of Clyde, New York ca. 1810, then to Ohio where Nabby died in Concord in February 1846. In June, 1849, Ezra married Nancy Cone Thomas in Monroe County, Michigan, the home of of his son, Arza. Ezra later settled in the vicinity of Homer, Michigan near the farm of another son, Arza. Ezra was 90 years of age at his death. Children whose gravestones have been located are listed below.

There is no grave found for Ezra's first wife Abigail Nabby Hotchkiss Lewis, daughter of Elijah 1733-1806 and Mehitable, 1741-1804, da. of Caleb and Phoebe Atwater Hotchkiss. She is not in Find-A-Grave as no grave has been located for her. Nevertheless, a lot is known about her. Obituary of Nabby Hotchkiss Lewis, wife of Deacon Ezra Lewis and mother of Isaac Lewis and Arsa Lewis. Where ever she went she carried her religion with her, and maintained it's duties strictly in the more recent settlement of the west, as in her N.E. home retaining in no small degree the religious customs and manners of our Pilgrim Fathers. Her religion was eminently steady and consistent; she loved the regular and stated means of grace. Her views of the doctrines of the Bible were in accordance with the N.E. Theology, and she loved to hear the distinguishing doctrines of grace clearly enforced. Her sickness which was protracted and painful, was borne with Christian meekness and submission to the Divine will. For her to live was Christ, and we have not reason to doubt that death was gain. Christ was to her an all sufficient Savior; and the last words which she was known to articulate were, "Lord Jesus come quickly."
