Charles Slates, 74, Dellroy, died Tuesday at his home following a heart attack. Services Thursday at 2 p.m. at the residence with Rev. Longsworth officiating. Burial in Scott's cemetery. The Roy Davy Funeral Home has charge.
He leaves his widow, Florence; two children, Marion Slates of Cuyahoga Falls and Ruth Slates of the home; a brother, John and one sister, Mrs. Samuel Guy of here.

Charles Slates, 74, died suddenly Tuesday morning, May 26, at his home in Dellroy. He had been an active member and leader in the Methodist Protestant Church; was esteemed by neighbors and friends as a man of sterling character, and enjoyed a fellowship in the church of his choice realized by few men. He attended church services Sunday, but unable to return was assisted to his home by his pastor, Rev. Longsworth.
Surviving are his widow, Florence; two children, Marion Slates of Cuyahoga Falls and Ruth Slates of the home; a brother, John, and a sister, Mrs. Samuel Guy of Dellroy. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the home, with Rev. J. H. Longsworth in charge. Interment will be in Scott's Cemetery.
