Obituary: "Katherine Evelyn Berlin, 83, of 1240 Otter Street, Franklin, died at
3:50 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2006 at UPM Northwest in Seneca.
Born Jan. 13, 1923, in Franklin, she was a daughter of John C. and Doretta McFetridge Berlin.
She graduated from Franklin High School in 1940.
Miss Berlin worked for General Telephone Company for several years and then for Joy Mining Machinery for 34 years, on the switchboard and in records, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin where she served as a deaconess and a Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of the Franklin Civic League.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading, flower gardening and her family.
Surviving is a brother, Kenneth J. Berlin of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Bardsley.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St, Franklin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Monday at the funeral home with Rev. James Bennett, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
