Following an illness of seven years death came Wednesday night March 13 to Mike Slipko an honored resident of Smoke Run and a dropsy sufferer. Mike Slipko was born in Europe and was 58 years old. In 1903 he married Helen Sacolige. The couple resided in Smoke Run where Mr. Slipko worked in coal mines for many years. Deceased is survived by his sorrowing wife and also his brother George of Philipsburg. Also eight children survive to morn the loss of a devoted father namely: Frank 28, Kathryn 26, Anna ?, John 24, Wasco 22, Mary 20, Eva 17, George 15 years. Mr. Slipko's death will be a distinct loss to his community and to his wide circles of friends. Reserved courteous and mild of manner, the deceased was beloved and respected by all with whom he came in contact. He was a member of the St. Mary's Greek Catholic Church of Ramey. Funeral services were held from the Slipko home, Saturday, March 16 at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Maloniak his pastor in charge. Interment in the Ukrainian cemetery in Beulah.
