Survivor of the infamous "Donner Party." Her father was Captain George Donner, the leader of the infamous Donner Party which was trapped in the heavy snows at what is now called Donner Pass, near Tahoe, California. There were only 7 surviving members of the Donners, 3 being Frances and her two half sisters, Georgianna and Elizabeth Donner.
