Ms. Alewine was born April 15, 1923 in Lancaster, SC and passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011. She was a daughter of the late Ileen Goodwin and Lonnie Alewine. Ms. Alewine was a member of Lexington Baptist Church for 62 Years. She loved her church and taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. She was a longtime employee of Lifeway Christian Bookstore for more than 40 years (Baptist Bookstore).
Ms. Alewine is survived by her sisters, Patricia Miles, Miriam Alewine, Lois Alewine, and Nettie Alewine all of Lexington; her brother, Rev. Roger Alewine (Anne) of Gulf Port, MS; sister-in-law, Connie Alewine of Lexington; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Ms. Alewine was predeceased by a brother, Larry Alewine.
