LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Miss Carrie Lois Alewine, 93, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with interment in Lexington Memorial Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lexington Baptist Deacons. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 508 Hampton Street, Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29201-2765 or Lexington Baptist Church, 308 East Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072.
Miss Alewine was born November 28, 1919 in Lexington, SC and passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Lonnie Alewine and Ileen Goodwin Alewine. Miss Alewine was in the retail clothing business at Sessions for 50 years. She taught Sunday School and served in the choir and loved to read.
Miss Alewine is survived by her sisters, Nettie Alewine, Miriam Alewine and Patricia Miles of Lexington; brother, Roger Alewine (Anne) of Gulf Port, MS; sister-in-law, Connie Alewine and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Larry Alewine and sister, Evelyn Alewine. The family would like to thank Dr. Howard Lifland and nursing assistant, Ruth for all their tender loving care and support.
