She had been a resident of El Paso County for over 30 years and was a member of the Ysleta Baptist Church. She lived in Fabens, Texas until he husband past away and then she moved to Ysleta to live her daughter. She was the Grandmother to the Legendary Jocky "Willie Shoemaker". When he was born she put him inside a shoebox and placed him in the oven in order for him to live thru the night.
