Age 50 William the son of Agnes Culbertson-Long and Pvt 2nd Class William Long a US Revolution Patriot.

This family was 1 of many to witness the era of the 2nd Great Awakening.

This grave is near the Reverend Robert Marshall's grave, at the rear of the Church Building.

In the THE LONG FAMILY of PENNSYLVANIA AND KENTUCKY As related to the Jarvis Family Compiled by Francis Jarvis Pierce it said William Long, son of Francis and Rebecca Long b. 1748 Chester Co., Pa., d. 6-27-1818 layette Co., 17- ased 72 yr.

Will probated in Fayette Co. Au~. 1818. m. 1770 Agnes Culbertson, daughter of Col. Samuel and Jennet Shields Culbertson of Cumberland Co., Pa. See Culbertson Papers. b. 1749 in Lancaster Co., Pa.

Both buried in Old Bethal Church
d. Sept. 1829, aged 81 yr.. in Yard about 7 miles NW of Lexington, Fayette Co., Ky.
They were married in Cumberland Co., Pa. and came with their 8 children to Kentucky in 1790, and settled on a farm in Fayette County on South Elkhorn Creek about 8 miles west of Lexington. They with one son (William Jr) and one daughter (Hester), are buried in the old Bethel Presbyterian Church Yard on the 0ld Bethel Pike. Today their memorials are missing for Husband and Wife, Hester or Heather (sic) is mostly fallen to the elements,
Only Jr's Memorial is still standing, and it also is broken. Charcoal was put in the inscriptions so to make this photo, The elements are melting the stone away in time.
