MRS. BALLINGER DIES

Mrs. Martha Ballinger died at 12:45 p.m. Monday at her home in Sibley after an illness of two weeks duration with heart disease. She was born on January 31, 1859, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barnum. Her marriage to Isaac Ballinger occurred on September 21, 1879. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Anchor, later removing to their home farm in Kansas. In 1894 they moved to Chatsworth, Illinois, and later to Sibley. Mr. Ballinger died 12 years ago. They were the parents of one son, Jesse C., who survives, together with a foster daughter, Mrs. Geneva Caproon, of Ingram, Wisconsin; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Miller, of Maywood and Mrs. Lida Hackett, of Sand Creek, Oklahoma, and two brothers, Frank Barnum, of Sibley, and William Barnum, of Bay City, Michigan. There are three grand children and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ballinger was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the home in charge of the Rev. M. O. Smith, pastor of the Sibley Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial was made in the Chatsworth cemetery.
