Ensign C. B. Ames, USNRF, was designated Naval Aviator #193 in 1918. Later tranferred to the Marine Corps Reserve with rank of 2nd Lieut. Released from active service in 1919 and resigned his reserve commission in 1927.

Suffered a heart attack while at work at the Army Depot the day prior to the orders arriving recalling him to active duty as Captain, USMCR.

Son of Charles Henry and Henrietta Burton (Hunt) Ames.
