Obituary:
James Calvin Adams, son of Daniel and Mary Adams, was born April 28,1876 in Ozark County, Missouri and departed this life on August 19,1958 at the age of 82 years 3 months and 2 days.
At the age of 30, he moved to Kansas were he resided in Stafford County and engaged in farming.
On January 29, 1908, he was united in marriage to Mary Ruth Hacker and to this union four children were born; two sons, Daniel W. of Stafford and Grover C. of Zenith and one daughter, Leona E. Schmidt of Stafford. One son, Franklin J. died in 1945.
In 1916, he moved with his family to Beaver County, Oklahoma and farmed there until 1926 when he moved back to Stafford County where he resided until the time of his death. For the past twelve years, he lived with his son, Daniel, on a farm southeast of Stafford.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Franklin, and one grandson, Dale Adams.
He is survived by his two sons and daughter; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, W.M. Adams of Springfield, Colorado and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was a kind and loving father and will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Services were held at the Peacock and Solace Chapel, August 2, 1958 at 2 pm with Rev. LeRoy Thornburg in charge. Interment was in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt, Kansas.
