MUNCIE--Vivian E. Keesling, 91, passed away Monday morning, August 4, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born on October 18, 1919 in Delaware County, the daughter of Robert F. and Mamie P. (Downing) Bookout, graduated from Cowan High School and Indiana Business College. She married Leroy Keesling on March 31, 1940.
Mrs. Keesling was a member of the Omega Nu Tau Sorority, Selma Lions Women's Club, Women of the Moose Lodge #712, and was an avid gardener.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Keesling (wife-Helen), Muncie, and Phillip Keesling (wife-Cynthia), Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren, Bart Keesling (wife-Gina), Frankton, Susan Sabo (husband-Chris), Monticello, Amy Keesling, Anderson, Todd Keesling (wife-Susan), Monticello, and Kourtney Reeter (husband-Jonathan), Scottsdale, AZ; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Bookout, Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy, in 1989; and a brother, Robert Bookout.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Private entombment will be held in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call at the mortuary from 12:00 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday.
