Mrs. Sarah Phipps, wife of Porter Phipps, died Friday, a.m., at her home in Pittsburgh. Body brought here Monday to Presbyterian church where services held at 2 by Rev. J. S. Cotton, of this place, assisted by Rev. Homer B. Davis, of Fredonia, N.Y. 85 years old, born, reared and spent greater part of life in this community.... Music was a quartet sung by James S. Forbes, L. A. Hovis, C. N. Black and C. C Hoffman. Survived by husband, Porter Phipps, three sons and three daughters: Mamie Phipps, Mrs. Eva Lewis, Mrs. Grace Boyce of Pittsburgh; Robert Phipps of Grove City; John Phipps of East Palestine, Ill., and Lyman Phipps of Buffalo, N.Y.
