Dominga Estrada Araujo, 86, a Deming resident, died Monday at Mimbres Memorial Hospital. Visitation was to begin at 2 this afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Deming with the vigil service starting there this evening at 7. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Deming. The Rev. Joe Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City. She was born May 3, 1908, in Metcalf, Ariz., to Esteban Estrada and Laurencia Perez, and lived in the Safford and Clifton, Ariz. area. She married Juan Manuel Araujo on March 3, 1937, in Lordsburg and for 35 years she and her husband ran Araujo's Fierro Store. In Grant County, she was active in the Catholic Church, serving as organist for many years. After their retirement, the couple moved to Deming in 1976. Mrs. Araujo was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and the League of the Sacred Heart. She is surived by her husband, Juan Manuel Araujo of the home; a son, Juan Manuel Araujo Jr. of Victorville, Calif.; a daughter, Anna Cecelia Ojinaga and her huband, Anselmo, of Chino, Calif.; six grandchildren, Michael, Timothy and Teresa Rose Araujo, and Paul, John and Thomas Ojinaga; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels of Deming.
