Mrs. Louise A. Allen, 89, died Monday (July 4, 2011) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities following an extended illness.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alton Theron (Red) Waters, Lester Lonnie Thrift, James M. Rogers and Hugh Anders Allen; her daughter, Marla Waters Liles; her parents, Willie Joshua Ammons and Thelma Grace Griffin Ammons; a sister, Betty Jewell Strickland; and a brother, Joseph Lawrence Ammons. She was a member of Crawford Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Sandi Lee Aldridge (husband Claude) of Waycross; a grandson, Timothy Truman Lee (wife Tina) of Waycross; two great grandsons, Cameron and Ben Aldridge; two step grandsons, Kameron and Dalton Thompson; two brothers, W.E. Ammons (wife Nettie) of Waycross, Terry Jay Ammons (wife Martha) of Waycross; a sister, Lanell Ammons Mitchell (husband Charles) of Callahan, FL; and numerous loved nieces, nephews and special friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday (July 7, 2011) at Crawford Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Wednesday night from 7 until 9.
