TUSKEGEE, Ala. -- Mr. Thomas Herman Smith, 84, of Tuskegee died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000 at Veterans Adminsitration Medical Center in Tuskegee.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at Shawmut Cemetery with Dr. Jerome King officiating.

Mr. Smith is survived by his sister, Addie Ruth McDowell of Valley; his brother, Sanford Smith of Valley and several nieces and nephews.

Born Nov. 3, 1915 in Chambers County, Mr. Smith was a retired employee of WestPoint Pepperelll's Langale and Shawmut Mills. He was a World War II veteran, where he served with the U. S. Army. He was the son of the late Emma Waters Smith and Wiley Williams Smith.

The family will receive friends , Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
