He came to Nebraska in 1858 and located at Irvington, where he has pursued his present industry since.

In 1865 he was married to Miss Frances Thomas, who was born and reared in Ohio. They have a family of five sons and one daughter: E. Ethelbert, Roderick E., Clyde R., Henry C., Zerefa F., and baby.

Mr. Brewster was an active worker in the social life of his community.
