Mr. Nelson R. Heystek - 412 N. Arlington St., passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 1977. Mr. Heystek was born May 4, 1910, in Kalamazoo, son of Richard R. and Nellie Heystek and was a lifelong resident of this community. He attended the Calvary Bible Church and had been a member in the Southern Michigan Gun Club, Michigan Gun Collectors Assoc. and Early Day Steam Tractor Assoc. In 1945 he formed the Nelson Heystek & Son Co., from which he retired in 1972, now owned and operated by his son, Arthur. Surviving are his wife, Elorise I.; one son, Arthur R.; 3 grandsons, Steven, Scott and Daniel, all of Kalamazoo; 4 brothers and one sister, Adrian, Mrs. Cora VandeWoude, both of Kalamazoo, Herman of Parchment, Richard and Donald of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Friday at 1 o'clock at the Langeland Chapel, 622 S. Burdick, with Pastor Tunis W. Mouw officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel, where memorials may be made to the Calvary Bible Church Memorial Fund.Kalamazoo Gazette 13 Apr 1977
