Mrs. Minnie E. VanderRoest Huizenga - 1395 Willow Lane, passed away Thursday morning July 20, 1972. Mrs. Huizenga was born June 22, 1896 in the Netherlands, daughter of Richard and Nellie Heystek and had been a lifelong resident here. She had formerly been employed by Gilmore Bros. and later operated an interior decorating busines. Her husband, Fred Huizenga, passed away in 1971. Surviving are: one son, Robert G. VanderRoest of Allegan; five grandchildren, Robert VanderRoest, Jr., Parchment, Miss Sandy VanderRoest of Allegan, John VanderRoest, Jr. and David VanderRoest, both of Detroit, Mrs. Carol Reed of Owosso; four step-children, Richard Huizenga, Rochester, Mich., Charles Huizenga of Niles, Robert Huizenga of N.Y.C., Mrs. Florence Young of Vermont; eight step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Adrian and Nelson Heystek and Mrs. Cora VandeWoude; three half-brothers, Herman, Richard and Donald Heustek, all of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, John R. VanderRoest.
