Peter C. Brougher passed away very suddenly December 31 at 5 a.m. at his home. Mr. Brougher was in his usual health and on Monday was down town, so that his sudden going was a shock to the whole community.
Peter Christian Brougher was born in Berlin, Pennsylvania, December 20, 1837, where he grew to manhood. In 1862 he was united in marriage to Catherine Palmer, who survives him. To this union three children were born: Arthur W. of Belmont, Wilder P. and Lura May Hunt of Winifred.
P.C. Brougher was ever a pioneer, going first to Illinois then Minnesota and N. Dakota and finally to Montana. He came to Winifred in 1915 and homesteaded on a piece of land northwest of town where he resided until three years ago when he moved into town.
Mr. Brougher led a very active life, and will be remembered as a kind, loving husband and father and friend to all. He leaves besides his wife and three children, thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Interment was made in the Winifred Cemetery after a short service at the home.Winifred Times, Jan. 9, 1925
