Emily P. McAndrew, 94, formerly of Plymouth, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at her home in the Country Meadows Retirement Community, Allentown, Pa.
She was born in Plymouth and lived there for 90 years of her life. Emily was a daughter of Idris and Margaret Richards Price and had attended the Plymouth Schools. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed by Weil's Women's Apparel in Plymouth for many years. Emily was formerly a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church of Plymouth until it's closing. She was a current member of the First Welsh Baptist Church of Plymouth, where she was active in the Bible Study groups and was also a member of several Senior Citizens groups and the Plymouth Cambrian Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. McAndrew; sisters, Elizabeth Thomas and Margaret Sims; and a brother, Arthur Price.
She is survived by a son Joseph P. McAndrew and his wife, Bonnie L., Allentown, Pa.; two grandchildren, Kimberly Chase and her husband, Donald, Wayne, Pa., and Jay McAndrew and his wife, Christyn, Westfield, N.J.; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sam, Erin, Michael, Gwyneth, and Brooks; a sister, Gladys Toporcer, Middletown, Pa. as well as nieces and nephews.
Emily will be remembered as a very kind and generous person who had many friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the William A. Reese Funeral Chapel, Rear 56 Gaylord Ave., Plymouth, with the Rev. Anita J. Ambrose officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
