Thru the years, this Jane was variously referred to as J. Maydill*, Martha, M.J., et al, but it seems that she was most frequently referred to as Jane [which is also on her tombstone]. She is known to have had at least eleven children during her marriage to D. W. Brodnax, with eight surviving her. Jane died at her home in Rockdale on a Tuesday evening in late May, having lived a long life of 87 years.
