Rose A. (Vaughan) Adams, 60, died Monday morning at her home in Norfolk. Rose Vaughan was born on April 12, 1861, to Julius A. Vaughan and Nancy Lobdell, at Westport, New York.

She was married on Dec 23, 1875, at Elizabethtown, New York to Samuel T. Adams. They had 9 children.

She was survived by her husband, only son surviving son, Worth A. Adams, Sacramento, California; 6 daughters all at Norfolk: Mrs. F. W. (Oriole R.) Freeland, Mrs. Edgar O. Redmond, Mrs. George E. (Villie M.) Surber, Mrs. J. C. (Hattie O.) Kimble, Alta V. and Rilva G. Adams. She also cared for her sisters four orphaned children.

The funeral will be strictly private on Tuesday from the family home with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
