LITTLE FALLS -- Constance "Connie" Kathleen Mowers, 82, Little Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at home.

She was born April 9, 1920, in Quincy, Mass., to John Wentworth Flieger and Kathleen Young (Wood) Flieger. She lived on a farm west of Brainerd on Red Sand Lake. She attended grade school in Baxter and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1937. She married Guilford Henry Mowers on Feb. 22, 1942, in Brainerd. She worked in the business office of the Crow Wing Co-op Power and Light (REA). She relocated to Minneapolis during World War II to help the war effort by working in the accounting department of Northern Ordinance. She lived in Fargo, N.D., for 13 years. In 1963, she moved to Wahpeton, N.D., where she worked as a secretary for the State Department of Trade and Industrial Education. She was employed by the North Dakota State College of Science, retiring from the business office in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Breckenridge. She moved to Little Falls in 1997. She attended the First Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Mississippi Go-Getters Homemakers Club, serving as their president in 2001-2002.

Survivors include a sister, Winona Hurley, Groton, Conn.; a daughter, Sharon Lorraine Annear, Alexandria, Va.; a son, Barry Lawrence Mowers, Little Falls; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Her husband, and a brother, Arthur Flieger, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls with Pastor David Steffenson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.

Friends may call from 5-7:30 p.m. today at Brenny-Simonet Funeral Home, East Chapel, in Little Falls with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
