Jack died as a result of injuries sustained when a truck in which he was riding collided with another vehicle on 4th ST in Junction City. He was a student in the Junior High School, a member of The Union Pacific Scout Troop No. One. He attended Presbyterian Sunday School. He is survived by his parents; one brother, John; and three sisters, Lucile, Margaret, and Marjorie. Service was conducted at the Pritchard Funeral Home by Dr T F B Smith. The Boy Scouts were in charge of a beautiful service at the grave. Rev R M Kellerman read the solemn ritual and twelve Boy Scouts dressed in white each dropped a white flower on the casket and named one of the characteristics of a Boy Scout. The Boy scouts, in uniform attended the funeral in a body. "Jack" became a first class scout just the day before his tragic and untimely death according to The Daily Union.
