STROKE FATAL TO AGED RESIDENT OF PALESTINE
Seventy five year old Darke Countian Expires Early This Morning at Home Near Village- Had Been Ill For Six Weeks From Effects of Paralytic Stroke- Leaves One Son
Edward Cloyd, 75 years old, a native of Darke County, died this morning at 1:30 o'clock at his farm home west of Palestine. His death was attributed to the effects of a paralytic stroke, which he suffered six weeks ago.
Mr. Cloyd had been retired for several years, but during his younger life was actively engaged in farming pursuits in the Palestine vicinity. His wife, Alice, died 23 years ago.
Surviving relatives include one son, Herschel, who lived with his father, three grandchildren, and one brother, Sampson Cloyd, of Hollansburg.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Church of Christ in Palestine at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The Rev. CW Heoffer, of Palestine, will officiate. Burial in the village cemetery.
