CHAUMONT, N.Y. — Georgia A. Cheever, 90, of Main Street, passed away Saturday, March 12, at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, where she had been a resident since January.

She was lovingly taken care of by her husband, Howard, daughter Sally, and sister-in-law, Shirley Winnett.

Georgia was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Depauville, a daughter of Nortia and George LaRose.

She married Donald D. "Jack" Daniels on April 3, 1937, and together they ran the Breezy Acres Dairy Farm in Depauville. The marriage ended in divorce.

On April 8, 1992, she married Howard Cheever, and they lived in Chaumont.

Georgia was a farmer, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was a member of the Watertown American Legion Post 61 Ladies Auxiliary.

She loved her flowers, and spent many hours working in her flower beds and sharing the joys of gardening with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed music and dancing with everyone.

Surviving besides her husband of 18 years are a daughter and her husband, Sally and John Rogers, Clayton; a stepson and his wife, William and Elizabeth Cheever, Watertown; a stepdaughter and her husband, Bonnie and Steve Liebig, and their family, Buffalo; a stepdaughter and her husband, Laurie and Randy Oakes and their family, Missouri; a sister and her husband, Audrey and Paul Williams, Depauville; a granddaughter and her husband, Laura and Fred Schneider, LaFargeville; a grandson and his wife, Rick and Jody Rogers, Pennsylvania; as well as eight great-grandchildren, a great great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

A brother, Dr. John Elmer LaRose, a sister, Lucy Ludlow, and a brother, William LaRose, all died before her.

The family will be receiving friends and loved ones 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton, with words of comfort from Pastor David Sheppard at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the spring in Dexter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 120 Washington St., Suite 419, Watertown, NY 13601.
