Mattie Doris 'Jackie' Farrar Beall

Funeral services for Mattie Doris "Jackie" Farrar Beall, of Wesson, are 10 a.m. on Monday, March 21, at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Wesson with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beall, 86, died March 15, 2011, at Silver Cross Home in Brookhaven. She was born in Copiah County on June 20, 1924, to Robert A. Farrar and Mattie McCardle Farrar.

She was a lifelong member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she wrote, composed and performed countless songs throughout the years. She was active in the community and in her church choir. She enjoyed gardening, especially roses, and visiting area nursing homes to perform. She was retired from Potter Company.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Prentiss Beall; her brothers, Ernest Farrar, Robert Farrar, Pete Farrar and Buford Farrar; and her sisters, Gladys Stegall, Mary Walker, Sally Walker, Lou Van Berry and Bobbie Nell Beall.

Survivors are her son, Ricky Beall and wife, Elaine, of Wesson; her daughters, Sandra Tressler, M.D., and husband, Steve, of Montoursville, Penn., and Susan Nevels and husband, Donnie, of Wesson; her grandchildren, Erin Tressler and Chad Tressler, of Montoursville, Penn., and Amanda Everett and husband, Michael, Jennifer Fortenberry and husband, Jarrett, and Benjamin Beall, all of Wesson; her great-grandchildren, Wyatt Everett, Ally Everett and Millie Fortenberry, of Wesson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Many thanks to her extended family at Silver Cross Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zion Hill Baptist Church Building Fund or the Silver Cross Home Activities Department.
