Obituary -FAIRFAX, Willmar R. Borth, age 92, of Fairfax, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at the New Ulm Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 20, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax, with interment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Bandon Twp., Renville Co. Visitation will be 4 -8 p.m. Friday, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements by Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. Willmar Roland Borth was born on October 22, 1914, in Fairfax, Minnesota. He was the son of John and Ida (Dallmann) Borth. Willmar was united in marriage to Esther Henrietta Mundahl on December 4, 1945, at a parsonage in rural Franklin. After their marriage, the couple lived north of Fairfax and farmed in Wellington Township. They moved into Fairfax in 1955. In 1955, Willmar purchased Smokey Hollow and operated it for 9 months; he worked for the City of Fairfax as a bartender at the municipal liquor store for 26 years. He held many side jobs, and was a jack of all trades. Willmar enjoyed visiting, especially with family and friends. Willmar is survived by his wife, Esther Borth of Fairfax; 9 children, Ron Borth and his wife, Sandie of New Ulm, Barb Schuft and her husband, Arden of Gaylord, Mike Borth of New Ulm, Pat Domeier and her husband, John of Bird Island, Dale Borth and his wife, Miriam of Fairfax, Brad Borth and his wife, Wendy of Fairfax, Russ Borth of Fairfax, Lori Wendinger and her husband, Ron of Fairfax, and Robert Borth of Nicollet; 16 grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Arlette Dummer of Fairfax; and many nieces and nephews. Willmar was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ramona, Orvella, and Valeria; brothers, Alwin, Maldon and Laris; and a stillborn baby girl Borth.
