Roy W. Ryan
Roy W. Ryan, 56, 828 East 4th, died Friday at South Hospital after a sudden illness. Born January 29, 1916 in Coffeyville Kansas the son of Walter Ryan and Osa Span Ryan he married Mary Margaret Mandeville Levoy Waggoner on December 2, 1950, at Nowata Oklahoma. He was a truck driver and lived here for 40 years. He was a member of Bible Baptist church; and a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Osa Span Ryan and a son Frankie William Ryan who was hit and killed by a drunk driver while riding his bike home from band practice on January 21, 1967 in Hutchinson Kansas.
Survivors include the widow; sons, Leroy, 210, East first; Eugene; Danny Dean Ryan and Terry Duane Ryan; of the home; step-sons: Robert Ward Levoy, Jr, of Dallas Texas; George Levoy, of the home; ralph Levoy, 6002 North Plum; Daughters: Maryetta, of the home; Nancy Lou, of the home; brothers: Charles, Spartanburg, S.c.; Frank, Coffeyville Kansas; sister Mrs. daisy Cheatum, Kingman kansas; three grand children.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson and Sons Chapel; rev. Paul Lambert. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Monday, at the chapel. The family suggests memorials to the church.
