TULSA, Okla. -- Dorothy Ambrose, 80, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in Tulsa, Okla.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 702 Eighth Ave., Fort Worth. Celebration of life: was Sept. 3 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa.

Dorothy was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Canon City, Colo., to Myrtle Ruth and Claude A. Collins. She was a longtime Fort Worth resident and was a graduate of Paschal High School. She married Warren D. Ambrose Jr., on Dec. 13, 1947. They were blessed with two children.
Dorothy was a member of the Junior League and worked with the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. For many years, she served as director of volunteers at Fort Worth Children's Hospital, which later merged into the current Cook Children's Medical Center. She and her husband were members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
After Warren passed away in 1999, Dorothy moved to Tulsa, where she attended Asbury UMC's Living Room Service and loved hearing her son lead worship.
Her fun-loving and witty personality could find humor in any situation. She was a gracious lady, wonderful mother, generous grandmother and faithful friend.
Survivors: Daughter, George Anne LeBel and husband, Andy, of Fort Worth; son, Warren "Dub" Ambrose III and wife, Cathy, of Tulsa; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
