FORT WORTH - Warren D. Ambrose Jr., 79, an insurance administrator for Harris Hospital, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, in Fort Worth.

Memorial service: was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.

Memorials: Union Gospel Mission of Fort Worth, 1331 E. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76102; or a charity of choice.

Warren Ambrose was born April 23, 1920, in Nacogdoches. He graduated from Paschal High School and attended Texas A&M. He served in the Navy during World War II and established the Eagles Club on Eagle Mountain Lake at the end of the war. Warren had a deep commitment to the Lord and was very active in the work of the Union Gospel Mission. He was the grandson of the Rev. W.H. Matthews, who was district superintendent of the Methodist Church during the establishment of Harris Methodist Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and W.D. Ambrose.

Survivors: Wife of 51 years, Dorothy Ambrose; son, Warren D. Ambrose III and wife, Cathy; daughter, George Ann LeBel and husband, Andy; brother, Joseph Ambrose and wife, Betty; sister, Anne Ambrose Shepherd; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
