Daughter of Lewis & Eunice McClain Berger

Marie R. Ackerson was born June 27, 1926 in Garrison, the daughter of Lewis and Eunice McClain Berger. She married Clarence Joseph Ackerson on December 28, 1945 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1977.

Marie was a head cook in various establishments in Waterloo and Cedar Falls.

She died Saturday, September 15, 2001 at her home, at 75 years of age.

Marie is survived by her son, Kim Ackerson and his, wife Cindy of Cedar Falls; her three daughters, Mary Loes and her companion, Ralph Fleck of Waterloo, Pam Fox of Waterloo, and Tina Fintel and her husband, Greg of Waterloo; one step-son, Tony Ackerson and his wife, Doris of Livingston, Montana; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Jahnke of Preston, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three grandsons; five brothers, Harry, Walter, Charlie, Dutch, and Johnny; one sister, Mae Jackson; and one son-in-law, Ronald L. Fox.
