Billie Sue Blue, age 64, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 2, 2011.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Blue; one daughter, Candy Umbarger; seven grandchildren: Kayleigh Blue, Dylan and Amber Apgar, David Umbarger, III, Alexandria and Hannah Umbarger; one great grandson; Noah Crachy; one sister, Linda McNeil; two brothers: Bobby (Shirley) Burgess and Ed (Peggy) Burgess; and her niece, Bonnie Saboff. Preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Apgar; parents: Bernard and Frances Burgess; sister, Norma Lee Withrow; brother, Dudley Burgess; and brother-in-law, Joe McNeil.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Jim Goettel officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn/ Mount Mercy Cemetery in Gary. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
Sue has been a resident of Hammond since 1962. Her passion was gambling on the boats. Sue was a loving wife, mother and devoted grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.
