BRADLEY - Dudley L. Burgess, 62, of Bradley, formerly of Dumfries, Va., died Dec. 6, 1998, at home after an apparent heart attack.

He was administrator of West Virginia Southern Regional Jail, Beckley, and attended Maxwell Hill Baptist Church, Beckley. He was retired from the Marine Corps with 22 years' service. He was a graduate of Mount Hope High School, a member and former president of Mount Hope Lions Club and a former Century 21 real-estate broker in Virginia.

Surviving: wife, Theresa Lee Bryant Burgess of Dumfries; daughter, Karen Lynn Cairns of Fredericksburg, Va.; son, Marshall Lee Burgess of Charleston; sisters, Billie Sue Blue of Hammond, Ind., Linda J. McNeil of Newport News, Va.; brothers, Bobby G. Burgess of Hammond, Bernard E. Burgess of Ocean City, Md.; one granddaughter.

Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, with the Rev. Ken Killen and minister Sandy Bigelow officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
