Margaret married Peter Shoup about 1832 and immigrated to the USA in May of 1852 arriving June 1st on the Meridian with her husband, son Martin, and daughter, Margaret. It is believed that she is buried in the Johnstown Cemetery because her husband is reported to be buried here and her son and daughter-in-law are buried here. However her grave has not been found and she could be in a nearby Catholic Cemetery. On another document her middle initial is incorrectly shown as W.
Her death cert. # in NYS is 1206 which states she died of pneumonia and was buried in Johnstown Cemetery January 16, 1887 at 81 years 4 months and 5 days. Her son Martin or daughter Margaret apparently did not know the names of her parents.
