ETHEL BAPTIST DIED FRIDAY; RITES MONDAY
Mrs. Ethel Baptist, 80, Rural Route 1, Jacksonville, died 5:15 PM Friday at Passavant Hospital.
She was born in Morgan County October 11, 1892, a daughter of Rice and May Tapscott.
She was married to Robert B Baptist and he preceded her in death in 1943.
Survivors include the following children; Frank of Norfolk, VA, Lee of Jacksonville, Ross of Colorado Springs, CO, George of Berrien Springs, MI, Norman Dale of Rock City, IL, Ora May, wife of Don Hilliard of Berrien Springs, MI, Ina, wife of Rodolfo Coma and Roberta, wife of Hector Rascon, both of Miami, FL, and Nelle, wife of Archie Hatcher of Manchester.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Marie Day of Lodi, CA; 42 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
A son, Willis, preceded her in death, as did a brother, Allen.
Mrs. Baptist was a Seventh Day Adventist.
Funeral services will be 2PM Monday at the Williamson Funeral Home with the Rev. Gregoroff of Springfield officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville East Cemetery.
Friends may call anytime after 10AM Sunday at the funeral home.
