From the San Francisco Call, July 23, 1898, page 13:
"Burrill - In this city, July 22, 1898, John W., beloved husband of Sybil Burrill, and father of Wesley Burrill, a native of Iowa, aged 41 years."

Akron--W. W. Burrill, who went to San Francisco on account of the serious illness of his brother, John W. Burrill, was apprised of his death, which occurred last Friday, before arriving there but he continued to his destination. The deceased was about 41 years of age, and leaves a wife and little son, who are in Akron at present and who have the heartfelt sympathy of this community. The remains were interred in San Francisco.

Family informant indicates he worked on cable cars in San Francisco and died as a result of a cable car accident.
