WINSTON-SALEM - Mrs. Helen Mae Robinson, 81, of 3010 Draper Court peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2010. Helen, affectionately known as "Na" was born to Dayton H. Carpenter and Mattie W. Carpenter on November 28, 1928 in Winston-Salem, NC. She worked at R. J. Reynolds briefly before becoming a devoted homemaker to raise her children, then her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church before her health would not allow her to attend. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Dayton and Mattie Carpenter; her husband, Isaiah Grant Robinson; her brother, Howard Carpenter; and both of her sisters, Dorothy Gray and Myrtle Carpenter. She leaves to cherish and celebrate her life: five sons, Richard L. Carpenter (Cynthia) of Detroit, MI, Kerry L. Carpenter, Casey W. Carpenter, Larry E. Jones (Carolyn) and Timothy R. Jones (Veronica), all of Winston-Salem, NC; one daughter, Sequella D. Robinson of Winston-Salem, NC; seventeen grandchildren: Angela Stimpson (Robert), Deshonda McGill, Sharon Carpenter, Brittney Carpenter, Vicki Jones, Achovia Jones, Derrick Pate, Michelle Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, Monty Carpenter, LaTonya Jones, Timothy Jones, Jr., and Anthony Carpenter, all of Winston-Salem, NC, Andre' Paige (LaShaun) of Oceanside, CA, Rhonda Mainor, Ladawn Moore, and Melinda Carpenter, all of Detroit, MI; one aunt, Mozelle Caldwell; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and a host of caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Donald Keaton officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11 until 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
