Benjamin Porter Horton, 82, 322 N. Kenilworth avenue, died Monday afternoon at West Suburban Hospital. Born in Chicago, Mr. Horton had been a resident of Oak Park since 1871. He was graduated from High School here and attended Beloit College. He had been in the textile business and been a member of the Chicago Athletic Association and the Oak Park Country Club. Survivors include two sons, Stephen V. Horton of Connecticut and Robert H. Horton of Oak Park and two grandchildren, Julia Horton, daughter of Robert H. and Stephen Horton, son of Stephen V.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Dreschler Funeral Chapel with Judge Dunne of the juvenile court officiating. Interment followed at Forest Home Cemetery.
