"Interesting... Mrs. America Grant and America Jackson.
Mrs. America Grant, wife of U. S. Grant, Jr., son of the late president and general, is shown holding her little nine-months-old namesake, America Jackson, while playing with the babe at the U. S. Grant Hotel in San Diego. The child is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles K. Jackson of Los Angeles (sic: San Diego). Both seem to be pretty proud of their names."

America spent the early years of her life summering in "Tent City"; the historical outdoor city south of the Hotel del Coronado, on the Strand at Coronado California. She graduated from Our Lady of Peace Academy of San Diego, and attended San Diego State University until she was swept off her feet by the dashing young 'Annapolis Man' in uniform, Ensign Francis Raymond Molitor, USN.

Mrs. Aileen Jackson announced the marriage of America Aileen to Francis Raymond Molitor, on Sunday, the 12th of April 1942, at St Joan of Arc Church, Las Vegas Nevada. Joy and sadness co-mingled at the affair. It was a festive event, yet dampened by the awareness that the groom had already received his orders for overseas shipboard duty.

America was a warm loving mother, and a busy one, having birthed 6 children in her eleven years of marriage. Her infant son, Tony, preceeded her in death and her infant daughter, Margaret, accompanied her in death.

America continues to gladden many a heart. May YOUR Perpetual Light shine through us.
