Mr. Agan was born Oct. 13, 1935, in Floyd County, son of the late Cecil Hudon Agan and Thelma Smith Agan. He has spent the greater part of his life in Rome and had worked at Trend Mills for a period of 12 years with perfect attendance. He was also an Ordained Minister and was a member of Huffaker Road Baptist Church. He also enjoyed as a hobby doing wood work.
He is survived by three brothers, Billy Agan and his wife Virginia, Leesburg, Marvin Wesley Agan and his wife Athel, Summerville, GA, and Gene Agan of Centre, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held this evening at 7 p.m. at Jennings Oaknoll Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Glass officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with the Rev. Marvin Glass officiating.
Mr. Agan will lie in state at Jennings Oaknoll Chapel where the family will receive friends this evening from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour, and after the funeral until 9 p.m.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at Oaknoll Chapel again on Tuesday at 10:45 a.m.
Jennings Oaknoll Chapel Funeral Home has charge of the services for Mr. Charles E. Agan.
